People of Jammu & Kashmir
The people of Jammu & Kashmir are very simple and jovial. The people
here belong to different religious backgrounds that make the overall culture of
the state more vibrant and colorful.
The language, culture and the
popular religious beliefs of the people belonging to the different parts of this
state are distinct and diverse. The lifestyle of the people of Ladakh is thus
different from that of Jammu or of Kashmir. Ladakh is the region with the
maximum of Buddhist population. It is a very important center for the followers
of Tantryan Buddhism. It is believed to be the only place in the world where the
Tantrayan Buddhism is still an important part of life.
Jammu is the land
of the people belonging to the race of the Dogras. The culture and its
representation in the state are completely different from the other parts of the
country. The rich tradition and heritage of the ancient civilization of the
Dogras are still reflected in the various art forms here.
The people of
Kashmir popularly speak the Kashmiri language. The people here are very fond of
their language. They preserve it through their literature and oral art forms.
Dogri is the language of the Dogras. There are some wonderful short stories in
Dogri that reflect their lifestyle and the community beliefs.
The
Kashmiris wear very colorful dresses. The embroidery works that are used to
decorate these traditional dresses are very popular in almost all the other
parts of the world.
The people of Jammu & Kashmir are very
simple and religious as well.
